Dave Lockhart goes C2B.

Chest to Bar (C2B) pullups are the standard for those who can complete them within a WOD. One thing that really gets me, is the the range of motion (ROM) that accompanies pull-up performances. For most, the "kipping pullup", is the first exposure that many individuals have to a "Pull-up". For us, a pullup consists of going from a full extension of the shoulders and elbows to our chin's getting over the bar on the frontal plane, by any means any how. If your chin, at the very least, does not go over the bar it is not a PULL-UP! So start holding yourself to that standard! Kipping pullups, while being a great asset to our fitness arsenal to overcoming any object, work quite well, but do not translate into "raw" strength when trying to overcome an object from a "dead hang". Where are you at for "dead hang" pullups at this stage in your fitness career?

While C2B may be more difficult, your power output is much more relative, to your pre-existing time, during the duration of a workout. In the famous words of Jeff Tucker, "you are NOT your Fran or Diane time! Do the mechanics!"(not verbatem, but makes a lot of sense).." Just because you are fast, does not mean you are strong".
