CrossFit is more than just 10 minute metabolic workouts. How many people are there out there who can deadlift double their body weight, run a 5k in under 21 minutes, and perform unassisted free-standing handstands in any environment? Very few. With developing our skill sets in gymnastics, weightlifting, and monostructural activities, we become much more adaptable to life's demands. Furthermore, we purposfully put ourselves in stressful situations with our workouts, to make life easier elsewhere. Max Effort or "ME" days should be just as mentally challenging and intense as a bout of "Fight Gone Bad". "ME" days are an opportunity to see where we stand in our phosphagen energy pathway, and to build confidence in our ability to lift heavy things. Just like everything else we do, it's a chance to experience reward. And a chance to feel a different intensity of SUCK!
